Old Fish Jazz Band
The Old Fish Jazz Band is a young international band of buddies who share a passion for traditional jazz. Based in Berlin and formed by six talented musicians coming from a wide variety of different backgrounds and nationalities. With typical instrumentation of the 1910′s and 20′s they play the oldest jazz in the world which at that time was called ragtime. Nowadays, this unique style is harder and harder to find and can’t be studied in any school or conservatory, but instead has to be studied from old recordings, books and biographies.
The Darktown Strutters Jazz Quintet
The members of The Darktown Strutters all share a particular penchant for 1930′s and 40′s jazz. It’s the unique idiom of that jazz era that really inspires a musical conversation between themselves and with the audience. Their songs convey the real emotional meaning of uptempo “good time” swing to slow “heart break” ballads. The Darktown Strutters are a trio that enjoy sharing with the audience the taste and sound of a jazz tradition that was truly by the people, for the people.
Inner City Blues Band
Inner City Blues are Cork’s swing-est Blues band, cranking out syncopated blues shuffles and favourite swing-friendly mid to high tempo tunes. Founding member Jerome Rimson (the Detroit Hit Man) has performed with and recorded classic albums with Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Eddie Cleanhead Vincent, Muddy Waters, and too many others to mention here. The other members hail from Italy, Slovenia and Ireland, and all have been playing music for most of their lives. The one thing these guys enjoy the most is playing for dancers who listen to and have fun with the music.
